Cage-Free Eggs vs. Organic Eggs

Super 1 Foods | Posted Friday, September 6, 2013 at 04:55PM

Have you ever wondered what the difference is between cage-free and organic eggs?

Cage-free eggs come from hens that are able to move freely in an enclosed area, building or room. Cage-free hens do not have access to the outdoors, but have unlimited access to fresh water and food.

Hens who lay organic eggs have been fed organic feed and are free of growth hormones and antibiotics. For an egg to be considered organic the hen house where they were laid must meet specific space requirements. Hens who lay organic eggs must have access to the outdoors, fresh water, food, nest boxes, perches and bedding.
