Christmas Parade – Ten partners rode on a float and threw out candy and trinkets to children waiting on the sides of the road. The candy lights up the children’s faces and they recognize the partners when they shop in the store with their parents.

Ice Cream Festival – Two partners volunteered to give out samples for 10 hours.

Wiener Dog Race – Partners sold cold drinks and water and gave away free bowls of water to the dogs.  Twelve partners volunteered for 96 hours. The goal was to raise money for animal aid.

Stir the Pot Seafood Contest and Festival – Five partners volunteered for this daylong event. They volunteered to work the drink booth. All proceeds went towards the Friends of Palmetto State Park, which provides family activities during the year at no cost.

In the Wake of Time – Two partners volunteered to supervise children in the play after they finished their part in the play. All proceeds from the play benefit restoring Franks Theater to accommodate future plays.

Cash 4 My High School – Partners set up a booth and passed out trinkets and during the half-time presented the school with a check.

LA Cattle Festival Parade – 17 partners volunteered for five hours to ride on a float and pass out Super 1 Foods trinkets and novelty items.

LA Cattle Festival BB Gun Contest – Three partners volunteered to pass out free Super 1 Foods bottled water for four hours.

Stir the Pot Festival – All proceeds from Stir the Pot were donated to Palmetto Island State Park for improvements. Ten partners sold water and soft drinks and will all profits going to the park.

Ice Cream Festival – Three partners handed out Goldenbrook Ice Cream cups to participants in the ice Cream Festival at A.A. Comeaux Park. They volunteered for 12 hours.

Erath Softball League – Partners volunteered to help coach a softball team for the league and all stars for two months. They volunteered for over 100 hours.

Cub Scouts – Two partners volunteered to help lead a den of Cub Scouts. This included meetings, camp outs and the annual hamburger sale.

3rd Annual Weiner Dog Race – Four partners volunteered for 23 hours for the annual event. All profits were donated to the local animal shelter.

Abbeville’s Christmas Parade – Nine partners decorated and rode on a float in the Christmas parade. They threw Super 1 Foods trinkets along the parade route.

Christmas Stroll – This event promotes downtown shopping in Abbeville. Two partners volunteered for eight hours to work at the registration table.

November 11 – 13, 2012
Fundraiser for Cancer Society – Partners sold hot dogs and a drink at “Family Day in the Park”. 10 partners volunteered for 60 hours.

November 8, 2012
“If these graves could talk” – These tours consisted of local citizens portraying the deceased person and giving the history of their family and about the era they lived in. All volunteers were dressed in the era they lived in. Partners volunteered to be a Spirit Guide and gave guided tours every 30 minutes.

Scare on the Square – Super 1 Foods offered a safe and fun way for the children of Abbeville to Trick or Treat downtown. Three partners were judges in the costume contest and other partners helped pass out candy.

Louisiana Cattle Festival 10th Annual BB Gun Tournament – Super 1 Foods sponsored the fun 3 day event. Over 150 people attended the BB Gun Tournament and about 60 kids from the community participated. Two partners helped hand out water to participants.

Eunice Home School Families – Four partners hosted the tour for the home school children in the area. The children learned about the history of BGC, as well as behind the scenes look at the retail grocery business. Each child received a recyclable Super 1 Foods bag with healthy snacks and an invitation to think about joining the team when the time comes.

Dozier Elementary School – Partners cooked hot dogs and hamburgers for the 3rd grade class at Dozier Elementary. They volunteered for three hours.

Weenie Dog Race – All proceeds from the race benefited the Abbeville Vermillion Chamber of Commerce and Animal Aid. Over 500 people attended the event. Eight partners volunteered with a total of 56 hours.

Scare at the Square – Six partners volunteered their time for three hours to hand out candy to over 1,200 trick-or-treaters in historic downtown Abbeville square.

Cattle Festival Parade – Super 1 Foods was a sponsor of the BB gun shoot. They had a float in the parade and threw out Super 1 Foods trinkets.

Louisiana Cattle Festival Beef Cook-Off – Employees cooked three angus briskets at the Louisiana Cattle Festival Beef Cook-Off. They offered samples of the brisket and gave away seasoning packets, toothpicks and candy for the kids.
