A Safe Halloween

A Safe HalloweenThe Center for Disease Control has some simple tips for a safe Halloween.

  • When trick or treating walk in groups with trusted adults.
          • Never let your children trick or treat alone.
          • If you’re trick or treating in a neighborhood, place reflective tape on your child’s costume and tick or treat bag.
  •  If you’re trick or treating after dark bring a flashlight so you can see the sidewalk and drivers can see you.
  • When trick or treating stay on the sidewalk when possible. Always walk facing traffic.
  •  Inspect the treats before letting your children eat them. If any packaging has been damaged throw treats away. Do not let your children eat homemade treats, unless you know the person who made it.
  • Never enter a home unless you know the person.
  • Make sure your child’s costume is flame resistant. Don’t let your children walk too close to flames, such as jack-o-lanterns or lanterns.
