BGC stores are offering customers a chance to help the Muscular Dystrophy Association again this year by making a $1 donation at checkout.
The program will run through July 12, and the company hopes to exceed the $50,000 donation stores and customers made last year.
BGC is the only grocery chain to conduct the checkout program in its markets.
Among other services, the MDA holds 80 weeklong summer camp sessions that allow thousands of young people a chance to enjoy a week of fun without worries about their physical limitations.
MDA relies on campaigns such as ours to make a difference in the lives of children who have neuromuscular diseases.
