Alzheimer's Increases

Alzheimer's IncreasesIt only makes sense. As baby boomers age, there will be more people dealing with Alzheimer's Disease. The odds of developing the disease double every five years after age 65.

The causes and remedies aren't fully understood, but experts believe there are some steps you can take to lower your risk.

            • Build muscle. Excess fat affects brain function, so a brisk 30-minute walk several times a week, and some weight-bearing exercises can really help.

  • Relax. Yoga and other relaxation techniques will help you manage stress, which ages the brain.
  • Learn. Keep brain cells active by reading a book, memorizing words to a song, or taking a new route to work.
