Baking Bacon
Just about everybody loves bacon, but hardly anyone enjoys cooking it. It's messy, time-consuming and if you're not careful, you could get a painful grease splatter.
What to do?
Baking bacon is an easy, mess-proof way to prepare favorite meat. You don't have to turn it or deal with spatters.
First, preheat your oven to 400 degrees F. Line a cookie sheet or baking pan with sides with heavy-duty foil, unless you're using a nonstick pan. Arrange the bacon on the pan, side-by side, being sure not to overlap the pieces.
Bake the bacon for 10-15 minutes for thin-cut, or until desired doneness. I myself like my bacon very crisp, so I bake it 15-17 minutes. For thick bacon, add another 4-6 minutes. Carefully remove from the oven, drain on paper towels, and use.
That's it! Really! No turning, no rotating, no grease splatters to wipe up. Just heat and eat. Each slice is straight and flat, instead of curled and unevenly browned.
When you bake bacon, it's easy to cook up the entire package. Leftover bacon can be crumbled for use as a topping, or put it in the freezer and pull out as many strips as you need for upcoming projects.
