Campbell Joins Elite Group

On Tuesday, June 28, 2011, truck driver Ed Campbell from Tyler became the 17th Brookshire’s truck driver to achieve the milestone of driving 1 million miles without a preventable accident.

He reached the mark shortly before10 a.m. on Interstate 20 near Tyler. Ed was greeted by his wife, Tina, and other family members and co-workers upon his celebrated return to the distribution center.

A 27-year BGC employee, Ed worked in the company’s return center and service department before becoming a truck driver in 1986.

"Ed is the kind of employee who makes this company great," said Don Gilbreath, vice president-transportation logistics. "Driving a million miles with no accidents shows his skills are at the highest level of his profession.”
