Diabetic Tip
Non-starchy vegetables are a diabetic person's best friend! They have so many wonderful qualities: fiber, vitamins and minerals.
Great choices include broccoli, cabbage, spinach, carrots, tomatoes, cucumber and lettuce. They're all low calorie and very low fat. One serving of vegetables (1 cup raw or 1/2 cup cooked) contains about 5 grams of carbohydrate.
