Earth Day Tips
With Earth Day approaching it’s important to talk to your children about recycling, as well as water and energy conservation.
Here are a few tips for your family to help the environment:
- Refrigerators consume a lot of energy, so decide what you want to eat or drink before you open the door and don’t leave the door open.
- When packing your children’s lunch use reusable bags and containers instead of plastic bags.
- Take reusable bags to the grocery store. If you misplace those, find ways to use paper or plastic bags you already have. You can reuse plastic bags as small trash bags or as book and file protectors. You can also wrap gifts with paper bags!
- Teach your children to turn off the water when they brush their teeth. One night show them how much water they waste by letting the water run into a plugged sink while they brush.
