Fix this manly dinner with just a little bit of help from a grownup, and your dad will be impressed at your cooking skills and your thoughtfulness! We’ve included several sets of directions here, so that you can cook dinner in the way that suits you best.
Microwave Beans and Weenies
(Very easy method. Requires microwave and can opener use.)
1 pkg of hot dogs
2 (28 oz) cans baked beans
1 Tbs brown sugar
1 Tbs ketchup
2 Tbs mustard
Slice the hot dogs into chunks, about 6 chunks per hot dog. You can slice hot dogs with a plastic knife. Put the hot dog slices in a 2-quart microwave-safe dish. Empty the two cans of baked beans into the same dish, and add the brown sugar, mustard and ketchup (measuring the ketchup and mustard isn’t vital. A good squirt or two will be fine). Stir with a large wooden spoon to mix everything together. Mix until the food is all the same color, no streaks of mustard or ketchup showing.
Microwave on high for 4 minutes. Remove from the microwave oven with pot holders, and stir the beans. Use a small spoon to sample the beans and see if they’re hot. If not, heat for 2 more minutes, remove with pot holders, and try again.

1 Tbs ketchup
2 Tbs mustard

Put the lid on the crock pot, plug it in, and turn it on low if you want to cook it for 8 hours, or on high for 4 hours.
After cooking time, turn off the crock pot and unplug it. Put a hot pad on the counter or table where you’ll put the meal. Use a large spoon or soup ladle to put the beans and weenies into a serving bowl.

Preheat the oven to 350° F.
