Fireplace Safety
In the winter time, the fireplace can be a lifesaver but it can also cause great danger.
Here are some tips from National Fire Protection Association on fireplace safety. When burning a fire in the fireplace, make sure there is a three-foot zone clear of any objects that could pose a threat of catching on fire; such as papers, books, or clothing.
Also, when there is a fire in the fireplace keep a close eye on your children and pets.
To ensure that sparks do not fly out of the fireplace, place a fireplace safe screen in front of the fireplace.
Last but not least, never leave a fire in your fireplace unattended.
