Food Club Milk Wins Big

Food Club Milk Wins BigBrookshire’s manufacturing division has won first place in the cultured milk class in the World Dairy Expo (WDE) Championship Dairy Product Contest with its Food Club brand milk.

The judging was based on sensory evaluation including categories for flavor, body, texture, appearance and color, and was held August 17-19.

BGC representatives will attend a ceremony to receive the award at the World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wisconsin, on September 24.

BGC plants captured second in the regular chocolate ice cream with its Goldenbrook Premium Ice Cream and sour cream based dip class with its Food Club sour cream. The group also placed third in the low fat blueberry yogurt class with its Food Club yogurt.

The competition drew a record number of more than 650 entries for cheese, butter, fluid milk, yogurt, cottage cheese, ice cream, sour cream, sherbet, cultured milk, sour cream, dips, whipping cream, and dried whey from throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

“These are wonderful results, and we’re proud to have partners represent our company among the best manufacturing operations in the world,” said Rick Rayford, BGC president and CEO. “We couldn’t be more proud of this team and its accomplishments.”
