Food Sales Association hosts BGCOn August 18, the Food Sales Association hosted a luncheon for Brookshire’s at the Ornelas Activity Center, University of Texas at Tyler.

BGC President and CEO Rick Rayford was the guest speaker, accompanied by Kevin Albritton, executive vice president, sales and marketing, and Carolyn Hutson, executive vice president and chief financial officer-treasurer. More than 20 Brookshire’s corporate leaders joined them.

More than 130 members of the non-profit group FSA — food and grocery suppliers from the north Texas region — attended. Among new members attending were Bruce Foods, Bush Brothers, Gorton's Seafood, The Hershey Company, and Hormel Foods, among others.

Rayford opened his remarks with a video covering highlights of the past year at BGC and finished with a video recapping the company’s first World War II Heroes’ Flight in May. Brookshire’s sent 38 WWII veterans to Washington, D.C. to see the WWII Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, and U.S. Capitol, among other landmarks.

"The industry constantly changes, and we are working through them, always striving to offer employees better training and focusing on giving customers what they want and need,” Rayford said. “We implement programs that embrace the customer to create more shopping experiences and offer more benefits and services."
