National Night Out – Partners from the store volunteered over six hours in the community for National Night Out. They set up a table and passed out candy and Super 1 trinkets to participants.

 

September 22, 2011

Harlean Beal Elementary School – Volunteers from the store assisted with the first day of school. They helped students find their classes and served breakfast to the teachers.

 

September 4, 2011

MDA Telethon – Partners from our Super 1 location volunteered to assist the phone bank at annual MDA Telethon. Also, they presented a check from Brookshire’s.

Lilliam Elementary School – Partners cooked and served hot dogs for the students. The students were having a fundraiser for new playground equipment.

Universal Academy Career Day – The bakery manager attended Career Day and demonstrated how to decorate cakes for the students.

National Night Out – Partners donated water and passed out supplies and materials to the community regarding the services the store offers.

MDA Telethon – Partners assisted with the phone bank during this annual event that was held at Lone Star Park.

Back to School Event – Event was held at Greater Sweet Home Church for area children.  Partners donated hot dogs and assisted the children throughout the event.

Career Day at Whitt Elementary School – Elementary school held a career day and they invited the bakery manager to have a decorating demonstration. The bakery manager donated 5 hours of her to the school.

Career Day at Hommel Elementary School – Brookshire’s bakery manager decorated cakes for the students on career day.

Field Day at Lillian Elementary School – On field day the students were served grilled hot dogs, chips and drinks for lunch. Brookshire’s donated the food and their time to assist the students.

Mothers’ Day at Harlean Beal Elementary School – For Mother’s Day the bakery manager and a partner from the store provided Mother’s Day cakes for the students to decorate for the mother’s. The students enjoyed learning how to decorate a cake.

In celebration of National Night Out, employees handed out reusable shopping bags and specialty items at the “Community Stampede Against Crime” event.

 

September 7, 2009

Six employees worked at the phone bank for the Muscular Dystrophy Association at the Labor Day Telethon at Lone Star Park.

On the first day of school employees greeted elementary students at the store’s Adopt-A-School and helped them find their classes.
