On school mornings, fast is good. Kids and adults are in a hurry, and they're sleepy as well, so fixing a complicated breakfast isn't likely to happen.
If you make some breakfast sandwiches ahead of time, though, and keep them in the freezer, a hot, tasty breakfast is just a few minutes away.
Take a look at our breakfast sandwich recipe and see what we mean! This recipe is easy to customize, using your favorite types of meat and cheese.
You can add in a scrambled egg, sliced veggies or other goodies, too.
Freeze-Ahead Breakfast Sandwiches
A Brookshire's Best Recipe
Ingredients:
12 English muffins, split
12 slices deli ham, any style
12 slices deli cheese: American, Swiss, Cheddar or your favorite
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 ° F. Place the English muffins on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Top half of the muffin halves with a slice of ham and a slice of cheese. Place the other halves on top to make muffin sandwiches. Bake for 10-15 minutes. Eat right away, if you like.
Cool the ones you want to freeze and freeze individually on trays. Once frozen, wrap well and place in heavy duty zipper-top freezer bags. To prepare, microwave each sandwich for one to two minutes on high power until hot and the cheese is melted.
