Frozen Turkey? Not a Problem!

Frozen Turkey? Not a Problem! You don't have to thaw a turkey before roasting it. This can be a great saver of space and time!

A 12-pound turkey will need an extra 90 minutes cooking time. Unwrap the turkey and put it in a 325°F oven. After about 3 hours, the turkey will be thawed enough so that you take it out of the oven, remove the bag of giblets inside the cavity, and then return it to the oven.

After 4 ½ to 5 hours, use a meat thermometer to check the temperature of the thigh. When it reaches 175°F to 180°F, the turkey is done! Allow the turkey to stand a half hour (while you get the last-minute dishes fixed) and then carve.
