Get the Health Benefits of Wine—Without the Wine
Grapes have the same health benefits as wine!

It’s a big buzz word in health circles: resveratrol. It’s a substance found in red wine that may lower the risk of heart disease, boost circulation and lower cholesterol. But what’s a person to do if they prefer not to drink wine?
The good news is a perfect example of common sense. How do you make red wine? From grapes! So it would stand to reason that grapes would have as much resveratrol as wine—and research shows that it does. Purple, red and blue grapes have the most, but even white and green grapes have some resveratrol. If you’re not a oenophile (that’s a wine lover, pronounced ‘wine-o-file’), relax! You can still enjoy the same health benefits.
How much resveratrol do you need to improve your health? Nobody’s exactly sure, but in order to reverse a cholesterol problem with resveratrol alone, you’d have to drink an awful lot of red wine. Resveratrol—in wine, or in a vitamin supplement—isn’t a cure-all. It’s just one small element that can help.
Resveratrol is an antioxidant—nature’s own rust proofing. Antioxidants help clear out the bad molecules and free radicals that accumulate in our bodies and cause problems—just like rust on a car. When you get rid of the rust (the oxidants in our bodies), the car (and our bodies) last longer and run at peak performance.
So eat, drink and be merry—with just plain grapes! Snack on a handful of seedless grapes, guzzle a glass of grape juice and spread grape jelly on your morning toast. It’s good for you…but you already knew that, didn’t you?!
