Giving Your Dog a Bone
The holiday season with both Thanksgiving and Christmas can be a very dangerous time for your animals. There are many different foods that we eat and cook with all the time that can be dangerous to your pet.
After the turkey is gone, we normally throw out the bones for our dogs. You should avoid giving your dog real bones especially if they are not use to them because bones can become a chocking hazard for you dog.
Just like you would not give your child a raw egg or raw meat, you should not give them to your pets. Raw meat and raw eggs can both contain Salmonella, which is something that as humans we try to avoid; Salmonella can also make your pet very ill too. While cooking avoid giving your dog or cat raw food, wait and give them a sample when you are done cooking.
