Have Pantry, Have Meal.

Have Pantry, Have Meal.Kids pick the most inopportune times to decide they want to cook something. If your kids are notorious for catching you at the worst possible time, there’s a way to beat them at their own game. You can have material ready for kid-cooking in your pantry! Store pasta and spaghetti sauce, cake mixes, rice and beans….and you’ll be ready for any kind of last-minute cooking project. Take a look at the recipe we’re featuring: Pantry Taco Soup is a perfect example of using what’s on hand to make a yummy, fast meal!

But keeping a stocked pantry is more than just practical; it can also be life saving! If you have foods ready to prepare, you’ll be in great shape if the power goes off or if you experience some type of natural disaster. Just one word of caution: make sure you have a manual can opener on hand!

Good foods to keep on hand include canned tomato products, canned tuna (and other seafood), canned chicken, side dish mixes, canned fruits and vegetables and even a few packages of cookies—it’ll make that power outage a little more bearable!
