Holy Guacamole!
Did you know that an avocado is actually a fruit and not a vegetable?
No matter what you call it, you can find it in the produce section of your local Super 1 Foods all year round. And these fruits are really super!
Avocados have the misconception of being bad for you because their fat content is so high. However, those are mono- and polyunsaturated fats (the good ones!).
Avocados can replace other fatty foods in your diet to help you lose and maintain weight. Because it’s a dense food, like bananas, it sticks with you for a while and you’re full longer.
Avocados are the basis for one of the most popular snack foods: guacamole! We’ve listed the basic recipe for guacamole, but the key is to throw in what you like and mash it up. The sky’s the limit!
