Household Cleaners: Know the Dangers

Household Cleaners: Know the DangersCleaning your house is just a part of life. Most of us do it mindlessly and think of it as just something that has to be done.

However, the chemicals and cleaning products we use can be harmful or fatal to your children and pets if not used carefully.

Children are curious by nature. Don’t keep cleaners where your children can reach them! Lock them up (yes, with a lock and key!) where they aren’t accessible to kids.

Child-proof locks aren’t child proof forever. As kids get stronger, the locks are no match for keeping kids out.

Don’t store cleaners near a heat source or in direct sunlight. They can be flammable or give off dangerous fumes.

Carefully wipe up spills or any residue that’s left behind. This can be a dangerous opportunity for children or pets to accidentally ingest the harmful product.

Keep cleaning towels separate from everyday-use towels. Washing these towels doesn’t necessarily get all the toxins out that can be harmful or irritating to skin.

Use common sense when cleaning and teach your children the dangers of household cleaners. This will keep your house looking good and your kids and pets healthy!
