It's All About the Green!
When St. Patrick's Day rolls around, you can be the hero if you fix as many green foods as possible. After all, this is the perfect way to bring that Irish feeling to anything you serve!
Start with breakfast. Kiwifruit and green grapes are great naturally green fruits that everybody loves.
But to add a more dramatic flair, why not go for the all-time favorite green food, green eggs and ham?
It's a snap to do. Break a few eggs into a bowl and mix with a fork to prepare scrambled eggs or an omelet. Just before pouring the egg mixture into the pan, stir in a few drops of green food coloring.
Voila! Your eggs will be a disgusting shade of green—perfect for St. Patrick's Day. Add a side serving of Canadian bacon or deli ham, and you have a breakfast that your child will brag about at school.
After school or after diner, fix a Leprechaun Fizz. It's sweet, it's refreshing and most important of all, it's green! These drinks are so easy to prepare that your children can do it alone or with minimal supervision—provided they understand the wildly foaming properties of carbonated drinks.
Tip: Add the sherbet first and then fill gently with soda. If you go in reverse order, you may overflow your glasses.
