Sunburn is no fun!

It's Sunburn Season!Sunburn comes from staying out in the sun too much. The sun's ultraviolet rays damage the surface of your skin and can lead to more significant issues, including skin cancer.

Sunscreen helps increase how long you can stay in the sun, but even with strong sunscreen, it's important to keep your mind on the idea that you need to protect yourself.

If you do end up with sunburn:

•Take aspirin if you can tolerate it.

•Apply aloe vera to the burn.

•Avoid more sun exposure.

•Go to the doctor if you have blistering burns.

How long will it last? It may seem like forever, but most of the time you'll see improvement in a  few days for pinkness and five to 10 days for severe burns.

Prevention is vital. Wear sunscreen and reapply it as necessary. This includes protective clothing and a wide-brimmed hat. Wear prevention anytime you go outside—not just on bright sunny days. Ultraviolet rays are present on cloudy, rainy and overcast days, too!
