What typically fattens up a salad??
Everybody knows that salads are super-healthy and great for people on a diet. But if you're not careful, you can turn a healthy salad into a heart attack on a plate.
The key is knowing what adds the extra fat and calories.
Here are some choices to use in moderation:
Instead, try making a healthy salad with a minimum of 6 different raw vegetables, using small amounts of an oil-and-vinegar based dressing and adding beans for fiber/protein. The best dressings are the thin ones with a base of olive oil and vinegar, rather than the thick and creamy (and fatty) ones.
Keep it lean. After all, that's one of the reasons you're eating a salad!
