Make Your Own!
Do you try to avoid commercial spray cleaners, because you're not sure what's in them?
Here's a recipe for making your own, along with several modifications for special uses.
Basic ingredients:
Baking soda
White vinegar
Olive oil
Lemon
All purpose cleaner: Mix a solution of 1 part vinegar and 1 part water in a spray bottle. This works well on glass, countertops and toilets. Do not use on marble surfaces.
Bathroom cleaner: Mix water and baking soda to form a paste. Scrub bathroom fixtures and tile. Sprinkle baking soda into the toilet bowl, and add a splash of vinegar to make it fizz. Clean with a brush.
Laundry aid: Add 1/2 cup of vinegar during the rinse cycle to soften clothing and cut down on odors.
Wood surfaces: Combine 2 parts of lemon juice and 1 part olive oil. Use a small amount on a clean rag to polish finished wood surfaces.
