Make a Mother's Day Cake!

It's as easy as 1-2-3-4!

Cooking with Kids

Make a Mother's Day Cake! What's Mother's Day all about? It's a time to show your mom how much you care and how much you appreciate her. And one of the best ways to show your love is by fixing Mom a special dessert.

If there's a child in your life, he or she may want to take on a project without Mom knowing—to make it a surprised. But if Mom is the best cook in the house, how can someone else help? Here's the perfect recipe. It's so easy that even beginners can help, and even beginners can help children succeed.

It only needs 5 ingredients, and there's no mixing involved. Just open containers and dump them in the pan. In fact, this type of cake is often called a dump cake—because that's how it's made!

If the child who is cooking is young or inexperienced, you may want to open the cans for him, since sharp edges are a hazard. No knives are required, but since an oven is involved, once again, you may want to be in charge of putting the pan in and out of the oven.
