When you put a straw in a drink, all of a sudden it's more special. Straws are like magic: they turn the ordinary things into not-so-ordinary. Most children really enjoy fruit, but if they're getting a little tired of the same old pieces, here's a way to give lots of fruity goodness all at once!
Children are good at cutting fruit. If they're young, they can use a plastic knife to turn a whole banana into a sliced one, or dice and mince the strawberries. And if the children are a bit older, they can use a real knife—with plenty of supervision, of course.
If your blender has a top with a feeding hole in it, your child will be easily able to help blend the fruits. If you have to open the lid and add the fruit, please take care that the blender is all the way OFF before doing so!
Remember that all fruits should be washed before use, hands need to be washed, too.
