Make your homemade foods healthier!There are a few tricks to cooking light that nobody will notice because the flavor isn't affected. See which ones you can add to your family's diet!

            • Choose whole grain products when possible for pasta, bread, rice and flour.
            • Use light mayonnaise instead of regular.
            • Load your tossed salad with sliced raw veggies.
            • Pick reduced-fat cheese, sour cream and other dairy products.
            • Use a reduced-fat salad dressing on your greens.
            • Use extra-lean meats, skinless poultry and less-fat bacon bits instead of higher-fat versions.
            • Add extra vegetables to soups, stews, salads and other foods.
            • Always look for reduced-fat or lower-calorie packaged ingredients when cooking.

There have been entire books devoted to sneaking better nutrition into your family's diet. If you're lucky, you won't have to be so devious, but even so…it's for their own good, right?
