Ordering Your Wedding FlowersIt may not seem like it, but the engagement is the easy part of your wedding plans. This is the time when all your dreams and ideas for your special day become reality but it’s all about planning and preparing, rather than actually living with the choices you make. Planning ahead makes all the difference. Here are some tips when ordering your wedding flowers.

Make sure you reserve your wedding day with your florist (6 - 12 months before wedding). Quality florists book up quickly and the sooner you reserve your day, the better.

Your flowers should go along with the theme of your wedding. Flowers are the theme that connects all the elements of your celebration—from your bridesmaids to the reception. Both the style and color of the designs you choose can create a coordinated setting for you and your guests.

The most important place to start is the bride's bouquet. Since the bride is the most important person of the day, you should never scrimp on the bride. After that, think of the other flowers you’ll need, including:

  • Attendants
  • Flower girls and ring bearers
  • Corsages for mothers, grandmothers, aunts, special guests and helpers.
  • Boutonnieres for the groom, groomsmen and ushers.
  • Boutonnieres for fathers, grandfathers, uncles, special guests and helpers.
  • Flowers for the altar, candelabras and pews.
  • Flowers for the reception, head table, guest tables and cake flowers.
  • Throwaway bouquet.
  • Going away corsage.
  • Flowers for the bridesmaid's luncheon.
  • Flowers for the rehearsal dinner.
  • Flowers for the clergy.

If this seems like a lot to plan and carry out, relax! You’re not alone. You have your family and friends to count on, plus you have one extra-helpful resource: your Super 1 Foods florist! Let the preparations begin!
