Organic Milk
Can milk be organic? Yes, milk can be certified organic if it follows these guidelines.
First, the cow can not be injected with synthetic or recombinant bovine growth hormone (rBGH). This hormone allows the cow to produce more milk than it would have naturally.
The second guideline is that the cows can not be treated with antibiotics. The cows also have to have a special diet; the grass or grains that they eat has to be pesticide free.
Another guideline is that the cow must spend sometime in a pasture. There have not been any findings that organic milk is any more beneficial than regular milk.
