Patriotic Club Sandwich
The Fourth of July is coming up, and because you care, you want to fix foods with a patriotic theme. It's easy to do with fruit—blueberries, strawberries and yogurt are 1-2-3!
But when you're making a deli sandwich, it's not so easy. You might be able to stretch the theme of red with a sliced tomato, and you might have luck with a white slice of cheese. But blue? Forget it! Blue cheese really won't do the job.
No, when you're making a deli sandwich, the red, white and blue aspect will come through the garnishes and accessories. Get a pretty cloth napkin or placemat in the appropriate colors. Look for flag-themed plates. Or better yet, find some of those fancy little fringed toothpicks in red and blue. And go ahead; add a few blueberries and strawberries to the plate for effect.
With the patriotic splash taken care of, you can now focus on creating a dynamite—make that a firecracker—sandwich. Club sandwiches are always the secret to your secret sauce! Popular, and we've got a twist on standard mayonnaise that will have your guests trying to figure out.
