Pets Are Good For You!

Pets Are Good For You!If you're a pet lover, nobody has to tell you how much animal friends enrich your life. But did you stop to think of the many ways pets really do that?

Pets relieve stress. The comfort and companionship they provide helps relieve stress, but the act of caring for a pet can lower blood pressure, also! And there's nothing better for your self-esteem than having your little buddy look up at you with adoring eyes, thinking you're the greatest friend in the world. Unconditional love is amazing.

Pets also give us social interaction. Have you ever walked a dog and had people come up and start a conversation? Pets are great conversation starters, and they help us get out and meet other people. And if nobody's around to talk, pets make wonderful listeners!

You also get comic relief from a pet—because they're always doing something fun. They're great to cuddle up with, so they add to your nurturing side as well. And exercise? Most pets give you some way of increasing your activity levels and getting out in the fresh air.

You should never get a pet simply because they're good for you. They require a real commitment that shouldn't be taken lightly. But ask most pet owners and they'll tell you: the rewards far outweigh the burdens!
