Sleepy
Getting high-quality sleep is a challenge many people face.
The top factors in getting enough zzz's are:
1. Get ready. Relax, unwind and quiet down, 20 minutes before going to bed.
2. Keep cool. Keeping your thermostat at about 65°F or lower makes it easier to doze off.
3. Take notes. Make a sleep log comparing how much caffeine you drink, when and how you exercise and what you eat—and how well you sleep. Share this with your doctor.
4. Clear your head. Don't worry about the day's events right before bed. Relax, meditate and journal about your life, so that you're calm at nighttime.
5. Keep it quiet. Whatever keeps you awake can be tuned out with a relaxing soundtrack. You can even keep thin speakers inside a fleece headband to direct the soothing sounds your way.
