Smiley Apples

Here's a snack worth smiling about!

Cooking with Kids

Smiley ApplesDon't you hate it when you get peanut butter stuck in your teeth? Well, here's a time where that's a good thing!

When your children make smiley apples, they'll be fixing a snack that is so good for them that it could actually be the main part of their lunch! The peanut butter provides high-quality protein with unsaturated ("good") fats, apples are healthy carbohydrates, and marshmallows are puffy fun.

If the children you'll be working with are beginners, you may want to be in charge of slicing the apples. And to make the whole process is a smooth-running one, consider creating a work station with each ingredient placed in a small plastic bowl; this makes spreading less messy.

Smiley apples are cute, easy, fun and healthy. What a great snack idea! Keep this one in mind for Halloween, birthday parties, or days when you want something quick and easy to do.
