Stressed for Thanksgiving? Look No Further Than Your Freezer.Thanksgiving is supposed to be all about family and friends gathering together and showing gratitude isn't it? When you're working away in a busy kitchen, sometimes gratitude isn't the emotion you're feeling. If you'd like a little help getting a big meal on the table, the best place to look is in your freezer. That's where you can find time-saving, labor-cutting help that tastes delicious!!

Need some ideas? Here's how your freezer can save you time, effort and frustration:

            • Pies, cakes and other desserts.
            • Appetizers
            • Mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, sweet potato casserole.

If you want  a homemade dessert but still want to shave some time off your schedule, use frozen fruit to jump start the plan. And here's a suggestion:

 

Berry Cookie Cobbler

A Brookshire's Best Recipe

 

Ingredients:

2 (16 oz) bags frozen mixed berries, thawed or 1 bag each, frozen raspberries and blueberries

1 (21 oz) can reduced-sugar apple pie filling

1/3 cup sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

1 (18 oz) roll refrigerated sugar or oatmeal cookie dough

 

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350° F .

 

In an 8 x 8 baking pan, mix the berries, apple pie filling, sugar and cinnamon. Crumble cookie dough over the fruit, covering thickly and completely.

 

Bake uncovered until cookie crust is golden and crisp and juices bubble out, about 45 minutes.

 

Serve warm with ice cream, if desired.
