Even if your family isn't a sports-watching group, fixing dinner for everyone is still a lot of fun. This super sub sandwich is gigantic, but it's fun and easy to make.
Remember the most important rules of cooking:
- Always wash your hands.
- Read the directions from start to finish so that you can set up and be prepared.
Note to adults: if your child is young or inexperienced in cooking, you may want to do the knife work ahead of time. This would include slicing the bread and cutting the lettuce, tomatoes and bell peppers.

Prep time: 20 minutes. Cooking time: 0
Ingredients:
¼ cup fat-free mayonnaise
3 Tbs. fat-free Italian salad dressing
3 cups shredded lettuce
1 loaf French or Italian bread, cut in half lengthwise
8 ounces fat-free bologna (about 4 slices)
6 ounces oven-roasted turkey breast (about 8 slices)
2 tomatoes, thinly sliced
6 fat-free cheese single slices
1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
Directions:
Mix the mayonnaise and Italian salad dressing in a large bowl. Stir in the shredded lettuce and set aside.
Open the loaf of bread, and with your clean fingers, pull out some of the bread from the top, to make a little tunnel to put food in.
Cover the bottom half of the bread with the lettuce mixture. Layer the meat, tomatoes, cheese and peppers onto the top half of the bread.
Place the two pieces of the loaf together to make a giant sandwich. Cut crosswise into 8 slices and serve.
