Taking Better Photos of Your Children
You've read all the tips about how to pose children, how to keep their attention, how to make the shots look natural and even how to make a grumpy little guy smile for the camera.
But what do you do when you try all these steps and their faces look shadowy, and they have red, glowing eyes?
There are two key words to taking better pictures of your children: ambient lighting. In simple terms, that means to make good use of natural daylight.
You can reduce the red-eye glow by raising the ambient light. Open the curtains, go outside….get more natural light into the picture! If you're taking a picture indoors, get your subjects near the window. It'll cast a beautiful glow on everyone.
Dawn and twilight hours are the most flattering natural lighting. Sometimes the noonday sun casts a harsh light and creates shadows.
