The Super Foods Diet

We all want the best foods, but some foods are called super foods—because they have so many exceptional qualities. Basing your diet on super foods is a good way to get lots of important nutrients. In fact, some experts feel that working all the super foods into your diet could cut your heart disease risk by 76 percent. Super foods include:

  • Garlic: A couple of teaspoons weekly
  • Fruits and vegetables: Five or more servings per day
  • Fish: A serving size the size of a deck of cards, four times weekly
  • Almonds: a large handful (about 50 nuts) a day
  • Wine: Up to 5 ounces a day
  • Dark chocolate: One 3.5 oz bar a day
