Truck Driver Logs 1 Million Safe Miles
Gary Tyler, a 17-year BGC truck driver from Monroe Distribution Center, completed one million miles without a preventable accident on Monday, August 17, at mile marker 60 near Arcadia, La.
Tyler is the eighth driver at BGC to have hit the million-mile mark. He will receive a specially designed ring and have his portrait displayed at BGC’s corporate office in Tyler, Texas.
Tyler has competed in the Louisiana state driving championships four times and national competitions twice. He was named Louisiana Motor Transport Association Truck Driver of the year in 2007. Tyler has a total of 24 years of driving experience.
