Spelling Bee Literacy Council of Tyler - Funds raised during the Spelling Bee benefited the Literacy Council of Tyler. Partners from the WNW Loop location assisted with decorating and cleaning up afterward.

Jail and Bail – Event brings together community leaders and ordinary citizens for a common cause. Partners from our WNW Loop location volunteered for 2 hours.

Bikers Rule for School – The 3rd annual event started with a ride that traveled through Smith County School District and ended at the Sharon Shrine Center. Many partners in Tyler participated in the ride. Many school supplies were donated and distributed through Path.

International Soccer Game – Brookshire’s and Super 1 Foods helped sponsor the International Rayodos Reservas team from Mexico.

Juneteenth Celebration – Partners from all Tyler Super One locations participated in the annual parade and helped pass out water and food to participants. They volunteered over 100 hours to this event.

Meals on Wheels – Partners from the WNW Loop 323 store volunteered for the month of June at Meals on Wheels delivering food to the elderly.

Tyler Day of Caring – All Super 1 locations in Tyler assisted with the annual Day of Caring. Partners worked at several locations throughout Tyler and at various organizations.

World War II Flight – Partners from all Super One locations in Tyler help send off the Vets to Washington DC for the Heroes Flight. They volunteered many hours at Tyler Regional Airport.

Cinco De Mayo – During the Cinco De Mayo celebration in Tyler the WNW Loop and Troup Hwy. Super One handed out water to participants during the celebration.

Komen Race – All Super One locations in Tyler participated in the Komen Race held at Bergfield Park. Proceeds from walk were donated to the American Cancer Society.

Bring Your Own Shovel and Plant a Tree – Employees from our WNW Loop location helped the City of Tyler plant trees along Old Jacksonville and donated 39 hours to this event.

Wonderful Wednesday – Partners from the WNW Loop Super 1 volunteered at the Alzheimer’s Alliance of Smith County. A non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias by offering services, programs, education and advocacy.

MLK Parade – Partners walked in the annual MLK parade through downtown Tyler with New Hope Baptist Church.

East Texas Food Bank – Partners assisted at the East Texas Food Bank. They helped sanitize grocery items and sort items into boxes under their categories to be sent out to organizations for the needy.

Meals on Wheels – Partners donate 4 hours of their time each week to this organization that assists the elderly and homebound with their meals. The partners look forward to this project each week.

Bikers Rule for School – About 500 bikers around East Texas rode about 100 miles collecting school supplies to donate to kids. 2 partners from the store donated their time to help with this worthy cause.

The event drew over 3,000 people and started with a parade and ended at Woldert Park. Many partners throughout our company donated many hours of their time for this celebration.
June 17, 2010 Meals on Wheels – Gentry Street Super One teams with Meals on Wheels twice each week. They are also called on when there is an emergency to assist with the meals.
June 11, 2010 Day of Caring – Partners worked with the United Way of Tyler and helped organize the ReStore warehouse, Discovery Science Building, cleaned and helped paint houses for the elderly. All Tyler Super One stores participated and donated 143 hours to this yearly project.
