Whole Grain Tip
Whole-grains are very important in a diabetic’s diet but sometimes labels can be tricky. Whole grains simply mean that the whole grain is intact; including the germ, bran, and endosperm.
When reading a package or label you should be looking for the words whole grains; the key word is “whole”. Another important step is to look at the ingredients list to make sure that whole grain is one of the first ingredients, if not it may have a very little amount of whole grain in the product.
