Washing your face is just one part of your daily routine. We do it in a daze when we wake up and without thinking before we go to bed. But did you know there is a technique to proper face washing?
These are the basics for men and women.
- Wash your hands first. You’re not doing any good if you wash with dirty hands.
- Wet your face with warm water. Lather up a dime-sized amount of face wash. Don’t use bar soap. It dries out your skin.
- Massage the lather into your skin. Start with your forehead and work down your nose, out to your cheeks and down your chin and neck. Give a little extra time to your hairline and eyebrows.
- Rinse with cool water. Splash the water on your face and remove all the lather. Leaving face wash on your skin can clog pores and cause breakouts.
- Pat your face dry with a clean towel. Again, a dirty towel does nothing for your clean face.
