Adding Fruit

Are you trying to add more fruit to your children’s diets? Try the following tips:

  • Add berries or mashed bananas to oatmeal, cereal and pancakes.
  • Pack an apple or banana and peanut butter for a snack.
  • Add an apple or grapes to chicken or tuna salad.
  • Add fruit to low-fat cottage cheese or yogurt.
  • Keep fruit visible on the table, on the counter and in the refrigerator.
  • Be a good role model. If your kids see you eating fruit, it may encourage them to eat it, too.
  • Add pineapple, oranges, strawberries and grapes to a salad.
  • Make fruit smoothie creations with your kids.
  • Make frozen treats from fruit. Insert a stick, dip banana in melted chocolate and freeze.
