Packing LunchThis school year, get your kids to help you pack their lunch. When your kids get involved, they’re not only more likely to eat it, but it’s also the perfect opportunity to teach them about portion sizes and making a balanced meal. For instance, if you’re making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, have them measure 1 tablespoon of peanut butter before they spread it on their bread. It also gives you a chance to explain that peanut butter is a good source of protein and that whole-wheat bread serves as a whole grain.
