FleasAre you worried your cat has fleas? If your cat is scratching, that could be an indicator of a flea infestation. To check, brush your cat’s hair with a fine-tooth comb over a white surface. The white surface will help you easily see any fleas. Once you have determined that your cat has fleas, talk to your vet about medications to get rid of fleas as well as a medicine to prevent them.

As soon as you discover fleas in your home, vacuum your house. Vacuuming will not get rid of all the fleas, but it will be a start. Talk to your vet about any sprays or foggers that are safe to use in your house to get rid of fleas. Fleas can also hide in your pet’s bed. Be sure to wash not only the cover of your pet’s bed but also the lining. Also, wash your pet’s toys. If you cannot wash their toys, then it is best to throw them out.

It’s very important to get rid of fleas as soon as possible. Fleas are not only annoying, but they can also carry diseases.
