new Super 1 Foods in south Tyler celebrates grand opening

TYLER, Texas, November 4, 2015 – An official ribbon-cutting ceremony today kicked off grand opening festivities at the new Super 1 Foods store, located at 172 Centennial Parkway in South Tyler. The ceremony featured Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Tom Mullins, City Councilman John Nix (District 6). Also present to celebrate the new store were John Godwin of A&E’s Duck Dynasty and two Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders, who took photos with and signed autographs for customers. Store Director Robert Marta also presented charitable donations to the Tyler Type One Diabetes Foundation, Therapet and Owens Elementary School.

Settled between Academy Sports and Outdoors and The Village at Cumberland Park, the 58,000-square-foot store is the company’s 34th location under its Super 1 Foods brand.

Among the store’s features there is a fuel center and a pharmacy with a drive-thru window, along with bakery, deli, meat, beer and wine, floral and produce departments. The new store was built with a focus on sustainability. It has several environmentally friendly features including automated lighting controls, a refrigeration leak detection system, polished concrete flooring, skylights and a clerestory roof to allow for natural daylighting.

The grand opening festivities will continue throughout the following weeks with special giveaways and promotions, including a Pat Green concert Nov. 7 at The Village at Cumberland Park.
