Veteran’s Day Cookout – Partners from the Monroe Super 1 Foods cooked gumbo, boudin balls, sausage on a stick and various other appetizers and desserts for area veterans at Chennault Aviation and Military Museum in Monroe. Over 200 attended the event.

Camp Quality USA Telethon – Super 1 Foods helped raise over $41,000 for the Camp Quality USA Telethon. This provides year-round support programs for children with cancer and their families. Partners volunteered for 40 hours answering phones, taking donations and pledges from incoming callers.

Superheroes For Autism 5K Run/Walk – Five partners volunteered to cook and serve fish, fries and dessert to the people that attended the event for 25 hours.

Super Heroes for Autism – Seventeen partners volunteered for 85 hours serving hot dogs, chili pies, nachos and drinks to the runners and walkers at the event. All proceeds benefitted Autism Kids of Louisiana.

Blood Drive – Two partners assisted with the Louisiana Life Share Blood Center volunteering for two hours. They promoted a gift card drawing for customers who donated blood.

Tyler Run for Autism Half Marathon – Two partners ran in the Run for Autism in Tyler, Texas. Both finished the marathon and stayed to cheer on the rest of the team. They volunteered for eight hours.

Cooking Contest and Auction – This event is the annual fundraiser for Cedar Creek School. Super 1 partners came in second place in the cooking contest out of several teams. Partners volunteered for five hours.

Our House – This organization provides assistance for troubled, victimized, runaways and homeless teens in the area. One partner made arts and crafts with the kids for two hours.

Mardi Gras Pet Parade – Twelve partners volunteered for 66 hours assisting P.A.W.S. a nonprofit organization that helps animals in need. Also, they handed out reusable shopping bags, dog treats and Food Club coupons.

4-H Cooking contest – Event was held at the LSU Ag Center in West Monroe. Super 1 Foods was the sponsor for the cooking contest. While the judging was taking place partners planned activities for the children.

Linwel Elementary Christmas Card Activity – Partners planned a Christmas card activity for the 5th graders at Linwel Elementary. They assisted the children with making the cards and delivered the cards to a local nursing home.

Be The Match Bone Marrow Registry – Three partners hosted a “Be the Match Bone Marrow Registry” drive at the store and volunteered for 24 hours. They assisted with registry, swapping checks and filling out the paper work.

American Heart Association Walk – The annual walk is held at Forsythe Park. Partners handed out water, bananas and granola bars to the participants of the Heart Walk. They volunteered for 28 hours.

Northeast Louisiana Food Bank Fill A Trailer – Brookshire’s and Super 1 Foods ‘Fill-A- Trailer’ Campaign teamed with the Food Bank of NE Louisiana. Each location had pre-bagged canned items that could be purchased and they also took monetary donations.

Louisiana Life Share Blood Center Blood Drive – Our partners promoted the blood drive by serving refreshments and also had a drawing. Three partners volunteered for 12 hours.

Dixie Die Hard Baseball for Handicapped Kids Finals – The Dixie Die Hards is a baseball league for people with disabilities and everyone is a winner. Partners volunteered 72 hours to cook hot dogs, chips and drinks for over 200 people.

Camp Quality USA Sporting Clay Event – All proceeds from event went to Camp Quality USA Louisiana to help in their year round support and yearly camp for kids battling cancer. Partners from the store cooked food for the event and volunteered ninety hours.

Camp Quality Telethon – Event was held at the West Monroe Convention Center and partners assisted with the phone bank for eighteen hours. All proceeds from telethon went to Camp Quality USA to provide year round support for children with cancer and their families.

Volunteers from our West Monroe location used this event to educate about BGC and provided a safe alternative to regular trick or treating.
