Our employees are dedicated to the communities we serve and collectively volunteer 44,000 hours annually. We’re staying connected to the communities we serve through our Community Connections volunteer assistance program. We challenge each store in the company to participate in at least four volunteer events a year.

Brookshire Grocery Company supports hundreds of organizations in the communities we serve through our corporate donations program. In-kind and monetary donations are spread across our market areas to support more than 100 communities in Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana. We have chosen to concentrate our philanthropic efforts specifically on organizations that support hunger relief, education, health, child & family wellbeing and veterans.

Our company celebrates what is truly important to our communities through events like the Heroes Run, FRESH 15k, Spirit of Christmas Food Drive and our annual Brookshire’s Benefit Golf Tournament. We are proud to continue to honor our veterans through the Heroes Flight program. Our environmental efforts include active resource management through conservation, recycling, improving operational efficiencies and encouraging our customers and employees to live greener.

Support from your Local Store

Your local Store Director may be just the person to talk to for a donation. Our stores are eager to be involved in what is happening in their communities, and they are equipped to help local organizations through gift card donations and volunteer support. Keep the following in mind when requesting a donation at your local store:

  • Come prepared with a letter of request from your organization that includes your tax ID number.
  • Please request support from our stores at least a month prior to your event.
  • Allow the store up to one week to process your letter of request once it has been delivered.
  • One request per organization will be considered annually.
  • Gift cards and volunteers are the only form of support offered at store-level.

 


Corporate Support

Brookshire Grocery Company supports hundreds of organizations in the communities we serve through our corporate donations program. Requests are evaluated by our Donations Committee on two different timetables. You may apply for an in-kind donation, monetary or gift card support. If your requests for corporate support are valued at less than $2,500, please keep the following in mind:

  • You will usually receive a response from the Donations Committee within six weeks of your submission date. See FAQ page for specific deadlines.
  • One request per organization will be considered annually.
  • BGC is interested in supporting organizations that provide local support for the communities we serve. Your organization must be in our market area to be eligible for a donation.

If your request for corporate support exceeds $2,500, please keep the following in mind:

  • Submissions at this level will be considered on a quarterly basis, so please submit your request at least 90 days in advance of your print and media deadlines. See FAQ page for specific deadlines.
  • One request per organization will be considered annually.
  • BGC is interested in supporting organizations that provide local support for the communities we serve. Your organization must be in our market area to be eligible for a donation.

If your organization is 501(c)3 with a mission to support hunger relief, education, health and the wellbeing of children and their families, please consider if the Grant Application process is a better fit for our partnership with your organization.

 


Brookshire’s Benefit Golf Tournament Grant Application

The Brookshire’s Benefit Golf Tournament provides grants ranging from $500 - $5,000 for 501(c)3 organizations that support hunger relief, education, health and the wellbeing of children and families.

  • Grants are awarded each spring and summer, but applications are accepted year-round.
  • One annual request per organization will be considered.
  • Our company is interested in supporting specific programs or events and typically does not award grants for capital campaigns or general operating costs.
  • To request a grant for your organization, please use the Grant Application.

 


Our Commitment to the United Way

Brookshire Grocery Company corporately supports local United Way programs annually and provides the opportunity for our partners to contribute through campaign programs. The United Way provides a valuable structure for distributing funding to organizations that impact communities across the country.

  • If you are a United Way agency seeking campaign support, please complete the Corporate Donations Application.
  • If your organization is a United Way partner agency, please use the Grant Application.
  • Support for United Way partner agencies may be limited because of our commitment corporately to the United Way in your area.
