Slow-Cooker Hot Cocoa

Ingredients
6 cups whole milk, warmed
2 cups heavy whipping cream
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
- Using a large slow cooker, combine the whole milk, cream, condensed milk, cocoa powder and vanilla.
- Whisk for 1 minute to incorporate the cocoa. Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Cook on low for 1 hour, and whisk again.
- Cook for 1 more hour. Whisk again before serving.
Variations:
- Peanut Butter Cup Hot Cocoa
- Add 3 tablespoons of smooth peanut butter to the milk mixture before cooking.
- Toppings: marshmallows, peanut butter cups, chopped peanuts, shaved chocolate, caramel sauce.
- Spiked Orange Hot Cocoa
- After cooking, whisk in some Kahlúa, bourbon, rum or flavored vodka.
- Toppings: whipped cream, orange peel or zest, finely grated chocolate.
- Peppermint Hot Cocoa
- Swap the vanilla extract for peppermint extract.
- Toppings: whipped cream, crushed (and/or whole) candy canes, fresh mint, mini chocolate chips
